Angel® System

Fully automated, closed-loop production of indication-specific PRPs

Fast, well tolerated, 100% endogenous substances

Autologous Growth Factors for Natural Regeneration

The Angel system is a revolutionary system for obtaining highly concentrated PRP preparations that can be tailored to individual treatment requirements. It meets the 3 main requirements of a multifunctional PRP system: maximum flexibility, ease of use, and a high degree of safety.

Maximum Flexibility

One system for all PRP applications

Ease of Use

PRP production at the touch of a button

High Level of Security

Closed PRP harvesting

Maximum Flexibility and Ease of Use

Users can choose between different platelet, leukocyte, and erythrocyte concentrations and thus tailor the PRP therapy to the patient's needs. This is made possible thanks to the proprietary 3-sensor technology, which utilizes the different light absorption of the individual cell types.

After the whole blood has been fractionated fully automatically in a double centrifugation step into erythrocytes, platelet-poor plasma (PPP), and an intermediate layer rich in platelets and leukocytes (buffy coat), the individual phases pass through the sensor.

Thanks to the different light absorption behavior of the blood components, the sensor can not only distinguish between the individual phases, but also collect different partial fractions precisely and reproducibly. As the components of the buffy coat are distributed inhomogeneously at the transition to the erythrocyte-rich fraction, different PRP compositions can be obtained by changing the preset hematocrit value.

The Angel processing set: delivered pre-assembled and sterile

To protect patients from the risks of possible microbial contamination and to prevent the user from coming into contact with patient blood, the Angel processing set is delivered pre-assembled and sterile. The set can be positioned quickly and easily in just a few steps. After filling with patient blood, processing is fully automatic and closed. The individual fractions are collected in separate containers, which are fitted with syringe-activated valves (PPP and erythrocyte chamber) or can be used directly (PRP Luer syringe).

Patient data can be saved for each processing. This data can then be easily transferred, as the Angel system has both a USB and a LAN connection.

The Treatment Process

User- and patient-friendly
  1. Collection of a small amount of blood
  2. Extraction of the indication-specific active ingredients in concentrated form
  3. Injection/application of these active ingredients into/to the area to be treated
  4. Stimulation of hyaluronic acid and collagen synthesis, cell proliferation, and regeneration

The Mode of Action

Fast, well tolerated, 100% endogenous substances

Arthrex Angel PRP therapy is indication-specific and makes use of the body's own processes.

The injection of indication-specific PRP at the site of action can stimulate the healing and regeneration of tissue in a purely natural way.

A large number of growth factors and signaling molecules found in platelets and blood plasma are responsible for this. Interaction with corresponding receptors in the target cells, for example fibroblasts, mesenchymal stem cells, and epidermal cells, initiates processes that lead to cell proliferation, hyaluronic acid and collagen synthesis, and matrix formation, among other things.
